Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate air-fuel ratio correcting mechanism by interlocking an accelerator with a metering or control fuel delivery mechanism and controlling the position of a throttle valve to give the rate of air to be balanced with the delivery fuel flow rate.
CONSTITUTION: When stepping in an accelrator, the fuel flow rate injected from an injector 3 is proceedingly determined by a metering unit 4. An actuator 7 which operates the position of a throttle valve 2 is controlled by a control unit 6 on the basis of the signals corresponding to the fuel flow rate and the signals of a sensor 5 which detects pneumatic pressure before and behind the throttle valve 2 to feed the rate of air which counterbalances the fuel flow rate. The throttle valve 2 opens and closes approximately in the manner of the first order lag, and the air-fuel ratio reaches the required mixture ratio right after the acceleration without hunting phenomenon. On the contrary, at the decceleration, fuel is cut at first and the system shows so called coasting cut behavior.
