Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve cooling effect and to reduce noises by forming a cooling water passage in a cylinder head, a cylinder block, a crank case, and an oil pan of the engine to cool each part in accordance with the temperature. CONSTITUTION:A water cooling passage (not shown) is formed in a cylinder block 1, a crank case 2, an oil pan 3, and a cylinder head 4. Each part is separated from the other and is only connected by a connecting port. The cooling water cooled in a radiator 18 flows successively through 1-4 through a pump 20. However, the first and the second three way switching valves 21, 24 which are opened or closed at the different temperature and the first and the second by-pass passages 22, 25 are provided above the flow passage, so that the flow passage can be successively switched to flow the cooling water from the high temperature part.
