Abstract

PURPOSE: Inorganic substance and foaming agent are mixed with a vinyl acetate- ethylene copolymer and they are crosslinked and foamed by heating to produce foamed products with high heat resistance, hardness and foaming extent.
CONSTITUTION: To (A) a composition obtained by adding (a) 50W300, preferably 80W200, wt% of an inorganic substance such as calcium carbonate or aluminum hydroxide to a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer containing 50W90wt% of vinyl acetate, is added (B) a foaming agent such as azodicarbonamide and they are crosslinked by irradiation with active rays such as electron or gamma rays. Then, they are foamed. Or the foaming agent (B) and crossling agent (C) are added to composition A and they are heated to effect foaming and crosslinking.
