Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture the commutator having a uniform dimensions by a simple method and to fix the commutator bars rigidly, by manufacturing a cylinder having a tapered parts at both ends by compressing metal powder, forming a bearing part with a resin, and by machining slits on the cylinder part in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:The conductive inner cylinder 2 having tapered parts 1 on both ends are formed by compressing the metal powder. The resin 3 is filled in the hollow inside of said cylinder 2 and cured, and the bearing part is formed. At the same time, the outer periphery of the tapered parts 1 at both end are convered by the resin. Thereafter the slits that reach the bearing part 3 are machined on the cylinder part 2 in the axial direction, and the cylinder 2 is separated. Thus, the commutator bars 2a-2c are formed. In this method, the commutator having the uniform dimensions are simply manufactured. Since both ends of the commutator bars are embedded in the resin, they are fixed rigidly.
