PURPOSE:To improve the impact absorbing effect by forming an air passage which allows the outside and the inside of an inner cover and an outer cover respectively to communicate, at the connection part of the outer bracket on the inner cover, and allowing air to flow-out smoothly even in a sharp compression. CONSTITUTION:The insides of an inner cover 13 and an outer cover 11 are allowed to communicate to the outside through an air passage 18, and through the sliding gap 16 between the both covers, too. As a result of this, even if a piston rod 5 is compressed with a sharp and large stroke, and each inner volume of the inner cover 13 and the outer cover 11 varies sharply, the flow resistance of the air in the covers 13 and 11 is exceedingly small when the air flows out, and the air flows out smoothly. Therefore, the suppression of shift in the direction of compression of the piston rod 5 is prevented by the air in the inner cover 13 and the outer cover 11, and the operation characteristics of the piston rod 5 are improved, and the impact absorbing action can be obtained certainly.
