Abstract

PURPOSE:To form an optical part superior in surface hardness, and resistance to scratch, and low in surface reflectance, by providing a hardened film made of SiO2 on the base surface, and forming a specified reflection preventing film on the SiO2 film. CONSTITUTION:SiO2 hardened film 2 is vapor deposited on a transparent synthetic resin base 1, such as a base for eyeglass lens, with the surface cleaned in >= about 5X10<-5> Torr vacuum to form a 0.5-5mum thickness. On film 2 ZrO2 and SiO2 are alternately vapor deposited and laminated on hardened film 2 as reflection preventing films; films 3, 5 being ZrO2 layers, and films 4, 6 SiO2 layers, thus permitting the proposed synthetic resin optical part to be formed.
