Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the volume of the compressed air by a method wherein the compressed air is heated by a compressed air heater utilizing the waste heat of a heating furnace or the like while water is injected thereinto from a water injector to evaporate and supply it to a machine utilizing the compressed air.
CONSTITUTION: The compressed air heater 4 is provided above the heating furace 3 and the water injector 5 is attached to it while the heater 4 is connected to the compressed air utilizing machine 9 through an air feeding tube 8. The compressed air obtained from the air compressor 1 is fed into the compressed air heator 4 through an air feeding tube 2 and is heated by the waste heat of the heating furnace 3 while water is injected into the compressed air from the water injector 5 to evaporate it and increase the volume of the compressed air, thereafter, the compressed air is supplied to the compressed air utilizing machine 9 through the air feeding tube 8. According to this method, the volume of the compressed air may be increased by utilizing the waste heat of a heat source effectively, an energy being supplied to the compressed air utilizing machine 9 may be increased and the operation capacity thereof may be improved.
