Abstract

PURPOSE: To make smooth the switching from the operating to nonoperating state or vice versa, by supplying a given bias current to the 3rd and 4th transistors for greater output and blocking that both the transistors are completely cut off.
CONSTITUTION: When the signal level is smaller than the 1st power supply ±VL, the 3rd diode D5 is cut off, and the 3rd transistor TR3 is detached from the input terminal IN. Since a given bias current flows to the base of TR3 via the 2nd diode D3, complete cut-off cannot be made. When the level of input signal is greater and the output voltage exceeds the 1st power supply ±VL, the diode D5 is ON and TR3 is connected to the input terminal IN, and the diode D3 is back biased to be cut off and to detach the bias circuit VB. Thus, the 2nd power supply ±VH is fed to TR1∼TR4 to enable amplifying operation of greater power.
