CONSTITUTION:The correspondence table memory 110 contains a flag showing whether the fixed head track address and the mobile head track are made to correspond to the fixed head track in correspondence to the mobile head track address, i.e., showing 1 and 0. Both the fixed head track address and the flag are read out of the memory 110 by the track address 2 that is given during the seek instruction. Then an access is given to the fixed head track by the fixed head selection circuit 31 when the flag is 1, and the track address during the seek instruction is applied to the mobile head selection circuit 30 from the address decoder 60 when the flag is 0 to give an access to the mobile head track. As a result, the seek action is eliminated when an access is given to the fixed head track, thus reducing an access time.
