Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner which has nonoffset characteristics and can be fixed at a low temperature and is impact-resistant by containing a reactive prepolymer into a crosslinked polymer composition. CONSTITUTION:A reactive prepolymer of butadiene base is contained in a polymer composition contg. a polymerizable monomer such as styrene, a crosslinking agent such as divinyl compound and a coloring agent, at 1-40wt% based on the weight of the monomer, and this composition is polymerized to crosslink and polymerize the polymerizable monomer with the crosslinking agent and the reactive prepolymer, and if necessary the resultant solids are ground, whereby the toner is produced. Suspension polymerization, bulk polymerization, emulsion polymerization and solution polymerization methods are suitably utilized for the polymerization method. In the suspension polymerization, a water soluble high polymer material or inorg. finely ground powder hard to dissolve in water is contained in water and conditions are suitably set, whereby the spherical toner particles of high fluidity are obtained substantially in one process.
