Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the clock information simply and surely, by using two magnetic heads having the center interval of head gap equal to a given multiple of the clock information signal recording interval included in digital information signal. CONSTITUTION:The center interval (l) of head gap for magnetic heads 2, 3 on a magnetic tape 1 has the relation of l=(n-1/2)lambda, where lambda is the recording interval of clock information signal and (n) is a positive integer, and the differentiating pulse train combining the pulses differentiating the respective reproducing signal has the repetitive period of 1/2lambda at all times. Thus, as to the required clock information signal, the pulse train of 1/2lambda repetitive period can simply be formed to the clock period lambda. With the constitution like this, when the reproducing signal of one magnetic head is combined with the pulse train of this period, the required clock information signal included in the reproducing information signal can simply and stably be detected.
