CONSTITUTION:Semiconductor laser generator 1 emits forward laser beams (front beams) L and at the same time emits backward back beams BB. Such back beams BB is received with light detection circuit 11, a detection signal formed in accordance with the beam intensity is applied to control circuit 12 to control beam emission intensity of generator 1. In such a light equantity controller, current exceeding the necessary quantity is not supplied to the light emitting device, permitting service life of its device to be increased, and maximum value feedback type light quantity controller to be economically composed without using a fast response photodetector.
