Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain uniform charging characteristics continuously and improve safety by rubbing plural lengths of charging blades to a photoreceptor and applying voltage to these blades. CONSTITUTION:A case 52 consisting of an aluminum material or the like is mounted freely insertably in the groove of the supporting frame 53 provided to a body and the 1st, 2nd rubber packings 59, 60 are packed in the case 52 in a mutually fitted state. The 1st-3rd charging blades 61-63 which are contact charging elements are set to these rubber packings and are spaced at every predetermined interval in the rotating direction of a photoreceptor 4. Their ends parts are allowed to contact respectively with the peripheral wall along the axial direction of the photoreceptor 4 and are inclined in the same direction as the rotating direction of the photoreceptor 4, whereby the mutual contact areas are increased. Thereby, the charging brushes are held to the case which is provided freely attachably and detachably to the body, and this makes handling of the charging blades easy, and perits their easy cleaning.
