Abstract

PURPOSE:To assemble the lower parts intensively at one position by setting the lower parts concentrically on a transfer pallet and docking the pallet with a body carried on a tilt conveyor moving is synchronism with the pallet motion. CONSTITUTION:The pallet 11 concentrically set with the parts 14-16 such as an exhaust means is transferred by a truck 10 along a rail 9 to a position under a main line within a docking area. On the other hand, a hanger 3 carrying a body 7 is moved along the main line, which is docked with these parts 14-16 at a predetermined position. The pallet 11 is housed securely within a gap defined in the bottom of the hanger 3. In this state, the pallet 11 is positioned with respect to the lower surface of body 7 to position the parts in suitable places for assembling. Then, a roller 6 is driven to tilt the hanger 3. Following the hanger 3, the pallet 11 also tilts and therefore, the bottom of the body 7 with the pallet 11 appears slantwise. This facilitates the assembling operation of the parts.
