CONSTITUTION:The surface of particles of single carbonaceous industrial waste or the industrial waste to which other carbonaceous material is added for the purpose of adjusting its composition is covered with aqueous soln. of alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt, or both the metal salts uniformly, hereby the viscosity of the material to be formed into slag which is made by the reaction of said salts with ash in reduced uniformly, and the ash is removed easily from the surface of the carbonaceous material, hence the active surface of the carbon is exposed at all time. Then the waste is molded by addition with binder, coarse granular material which serves as nuclei, and small pieces or powder of iron material in order to make molded recarburizing material. The molded recarburizing material is inexpensive because its raw material is industrial waste, and its carburizing effect is comparable favorably to that of conventional recarburizer.
