Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the grinding and cutting efficiency of the grinding stone wheel by mixing less hard rock-forming mineral the hardness thereof is 2W6 into the grinding stone.
CONSTITUTION: The grinding stone is prepared by mixing grains having the diameter almost the same as that of the grinding stone grains but the hardness is between 2W6 which is lower than that of the grinding stone. The example of grains to be mixed in are; anhydrite (3), tremolite (5), pyroxene group (5.5W6.5) and the like. The mixing in amount of those lower hardness grains into the grinding grains is preferably about 10W40wt% as against the total amount of the grain. Mixture of the less hard rock-forming mineral grains, if the above conditions are satisfied, shows the most favorable effect. In comparison with grinding wheels sold on the market and those manufactured without the mixture of less hard grains, the cutting wheel of this type has been proved effective about 5 times as much.
