Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of cracks due to difference of the thermal expansitivy between a sleeve and a rotary shaft by inserting and fixing a ceramic sleeve in the rotary shaft with an elastic body interposed.
CONSTITUTION: A ceramic sleeve 7, whose inner diameter is smaller than the outer diameter, at the time of high temp., of O-rings 6a, 6b put in the grooves 5a, 5b of a rotary shaft 4 and larger than the rotary shaft's outer diameter in high temp., is inserted and fixed in the rotary shaft with the O-rings 6a, 6b interposed. By such a construction, the inner diameter of the sleeve 7 does not become smaller than the outer diameter of the rotay shaft 4 even at the time of high temp. and, moreover, the gap 8 between the sleeve 7 and the rotary shaft 4 becomes narrow at the time of high temp. due to difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion. Restoring force of the O-rings 6a, 6b acts as stress on the sleeve 7, which is very slight however, so that the sleeve 7 can be prevented from cracking, which is otherwise likely due to difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion.
