Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve thermal efficiency and the calcination rate per volume of calcination chamber by a method wherein preheated powders such as powders of the starting material of cement are supplied to a conduit for supplying O2-containing gas and a fuel for calcination is supplied to the O2 conduit and the bottom of a calcination chamber, said bottom having a high concentration of rawmaterial. CONSTITUTION:Preheated powdery rawmaterials are introduced through a supply tube 8 into a O2-containing gas-supplying conduit 6 connected to the inlet 4 in the central part of the bottom of a cylindrical calcination chamber 1. The fed powders are blown up by the high temperature O2-containing gas and introduced into the calcination chamber 1. A suspended state is formed in a whirl stream generating part, and a zone a having a high concentration of the fed powders is formed. A fuel for calcination from a supply tube 11 is supplied towards the zone 9 together with a primary air from a supply tube 12. In this case, a fuel for calcination from a supply tube 11' is also supplied to an intermediate point of the gas supply tube 6. The fuel together with powders in a suspended state is introduced into the calcination chamber.
