Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to transmit and receive analogue signals as well as digital signals by giving a complete direct connection structure to transmission and receiving circuits and by making transmission circuits and receiving circuits for analogue signals and digital signals into one body respectively. CONSTITUTION:An analogue signal is inputted from input terminal 11 and is applied to the analogue signal input circuit consisting of variable resistor 21 for impedance matching, input level adjustment equipment 22, bias adjustment equipment 14 to change DC components of a light emitting element driving current, and differential amplifier 23. Then, a digital signal is inputted from input terminal 1 and is applied to the digital signal input circuit consisting of interface circuit 2. Then, switch 25 is switched by control signal 24 to connect the analogue signal or the digital signal to luminous element driving circuit 3, thus performing light transmission. This light is received and is converted to an electric signal by the common input circuit consisting of light detecting element 5, etc., and this electric signal is connected to line driving circuit 17 and the digital signal reproducing circuit consisting of ATC circuit 9, etc., by switch 25 for the analogue signal and the digital signal respectively.
