Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify an activated charcoal regeneration process, by returning to a previous disposal process an organic substance elution waste liquid which is produced when activated charcoal which is used for treatment and whose adsorption function has fallen is regenerated.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water is conducted to a previous disposal process consisting of biological treatment and/or coagulation and sedimentation treatment. The waste water is thereafter treated with activated charcoal. An organic substance elution waste liquid, which is drained when activated charcoal used in the treatment is regenerated in a liquid, is adjusted to alkalinity if possible and then returned to the previous disposal process. The liquid regeneration process consists of a biological treatment process and an organic substance eluting agent contact process. As a result, the removal of organic substances from waste water in a waste liquid disposal process and the treatment of a waste regenerating liquid in a regeneration process can be effected in a single process. The activated charcoal regeneration process is thus simplified.
