Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform the reformation of alcohol fuel effectively at low temperatures in particular by enhancing the reforming effect of reformer by providing a reformer to improve alcohol fuel in the exhaust gas path and also providing a heat accumulator before the reformer.
CONSTITUTION: The fuel path 4 is connected to the suction air path 2 of the engine 1, and the reformer 6 is provided across the path 4 and the exhaust gas path 5, in which alcohol fuel is reformed into fuel such as hydrogen, etc. by means of the heat of exhaust gap. The heat accumulator 8 is provided in the exhaust gas path 5 before the reformer 6 and its upstream side is connected to the fuel path 4 through the communication pipe 9 with the electromagnetic valve 10. Also, the exhaust gas path 5 is provided with the by-path 11 going around both the reformer 6 and the heat accumulator 8 and having the electromagnetic valve 12.
