Abstract

PURPOSE:To cause the switching point of head switching to enter a prescribed range by obtaining a head switching signal on a basis of the residual error of phase servo obtained from a phase detection counter. CONSTITUTION:Pulse signal PGH from a pulse generator is delayed by a prescribed time by monostable multivibrator 29. Output PGHDL of monostable multivibrator 29 follows the error of servo phase. However, reset signal VDL of FF30 is independent of the error of phase servo. Consequently, phase detection counter 35 counts clock pulses TF6 256 or less or more for phase delay or advance. Then, immediately before further 1/2 rotation of the head column, FF45 is set by the output pulse of decoder 27, and counter 35 counts pulses TF6 again. Then, in case of phase error, the counter counts pulses 256 or more or less by lack or surplus components of the preceding count. As a result, head switching signal DFSW is changed according to phase error.
