Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect previously abnormality of a multiprocessor system equipped with a main processor and slave processor, by automatically diagnosing the multiprocessor system when a diagnosis is put in effect.
CONSTITUTION: Once the system is supplied with power, main processor 1 makes a check on a register in main processor 1 and also tests RAM and ROM. The check on the register is made by reading data after data is written in the register and then by making a comparison between written data and read data. After a series of abovementioned diagnostic processes end, main processor 1 writes a slave-processor test instruction in a start-content entry block and sends an interruption signal to slave processor 2. Slave processor 2 interprets the test instruction to read a diagnostic program from ROM8 in sequence, thereby making the check and test of the slave-processor inside.
