Abstract

PURPOSE: To use chain for changing speed steplessly, by arranging small sprockets at positions corresponding to vertexes of a polygone and radially and equally shifting them all at once.
CONSTITUTION: As an input shaft 5 is turned, chain 31 is forcibly driven by sprockets 21, 23 to turn a change speed sprocket 32. When a wire 13 is loosened at this moment, a transmission bearing metal 8 is shifted to the right by a push spring 10 and each transmission shaft 17 is shifted upward along a guide groove 27. The diameter of a portion which functions as a large sprocket formed by the small sprockets 21, 23 is accordingly expanded. Then the change speed sprocket 32 is lifted through the chain 31 against tension springs 37, 37', which increases its revolution and power is put out through an output shaft 4.
