Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the contacting degree with the packing and enable bulging without causing oil leak even in a metal pipe inferior in roundness, by applying impact of liquid pressure to metal pipe in the initial period of pressurization to deform plastically, and forming while increasing the pressure gradually.
CONSTITUTION: A valve 23 is closed, and valves 12, 22 are opened, and pressure liquid is supplied into the inside 24 of a metal pipe 1 externally fitted to dies 2, 3 through a packing 7. Then, the valve 12 is closed and the valve 23 is opened, and liquid is supplied into a pre-pressurizing chamber 15 until a compressive spring 21 is compressed fully. Then, when the valve 22 is closed and valve 12 is opened, an impact of pressure is applied to the metal pipe 1 from the pre-pressurizing chamber 15. As a result, the both end parts of the metal pipe 1 and the parts not externally fitted with the die 2, 3 are deformed plastically, so that the metal pipe 1 and packing 7 are brought into tight contact. Instantly, oil leak is eliminated. Then, the valve 23 is closed and hydraulic equipment is operated to open the valve 22, and pressure is gradually applied to the metal pipe 1. Thus, a bulge part is formed along the shape of an interval 4 at which the dies 2, 3 are opposing.
