Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce a circulator in external size by constituting a broad-band matching line inside of an area of radius R of a disk of a ferrimagnetic substance. CONSTITUTION:On ferrimagnetic-substance substrate 4, junction part 1 nearly in an equilaterally-triangular shape is formed and input-output lines 2 are led out from respective sides of the triangle. In this case, junction part 1 in the equilaterally- triangular shape is formed of a triangular conductor inscribed in a prescribed circle and when the specific inductive capacity, effective inductive capacity and center frequency of the ferrimagnetic substance are denoted by epsilonf, muf and (f) GHz, the radius of the circle should nearly be equal to 87.9/(epsilonf.muf.f)<0.5>mm. Respective lines connecting to input-output lines 2 are positioned between R/2 and R and impedance lines 3 for broad-band matching are interposed. As a result, the size of the circulator is reduced to 2/3 or less in comparison with normal one, and consequently an unneeded resonance mode parts from an operating-frequency band, so that suppression measures against that can be simplified.
