Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the branched pipe of good quality with a good yield by performing centrifugal casting through the use of the mold using the sand mold comprising integrally molding the main mold and branch part core and being provided with a bar-form body of a suitable size whose both ends are secured in the main mold and which penetrates through the core portion.
CONSTITUTION: The mold is the integral mold using the sand mold having a holding bar (may be plural) 7 which is fixed at both ends in the main mold portion 4a and penetrates through a core 6. The holding bar 7 is for preventing the breakage of the core 6 during centrifugal casting and has the size of the extent of not causing perfect loss on melting before the solidification of the molten metal. The abovementioned integral mold is molded by beforehand penetrating the holding bar 7 in the pattern 8 for the branch pipe (core) to be erected in the required position of the wooden pattern 9 having been set on a molding board 10. The pattern 8 is made of foamed resin mold of polystyrene or the like to facilitate rapping. When the foregoing mold is set in a rotary metal die and is subjected to centrifugal casting, the accuracy of the product improves and the sound branched pipe is readily obtainable.
