Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide colored glass having superior weathering resistance and suitable for use as the compensating filter of a photosensitive element for measuring the quantity of light, etc. by adding CuO to base glass obtd. by blending P2O5, Al2O3, B2O3, ZnO, CaO, MgO, BaO, SrO, Na2O, K2O, etc. in a specified wt. ratio.
CONSTITUTION: 1W7 Parts of CuO are added to 100 parts of base glass having a compsn. consisting of, by wt., P2O5 65W75%, Al2O3 6W13%, B2O3 2W6%, ZnO 0W10%, CaO 0W10%, MgO 0W5%, BaO 0W12%, SrO 0W10% (ZnO+CaO+ MgO+BaO+SrO 5W12%), Na2O 0W4% and K2O 0W6% (Na2O+K2O 3W8%). This raw material is melted in a quartz or platinum crucible in a melting furnace kept at about 1200W1300°C. The molten material is agitated, refined, cast in a metal mold, and slowly cooled to obtain phosphate type colored glass lowering spectroscopic transmittance in wavelengths of 700W1100nm.
