Abstract
PURPOSE:To correct the right-left pincushion distortion by flowing the fixed beam current to the picture tube to obtain the information of the horizontal deflection through the PLL circuit then writing the information into the memory to be read and applied to the horizontal deflecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:The fixed current is flowed to picture tube 10, and the index signal is detected 21 to be applied to PLL circuit 30. The output of low pass filter LPF34 is supplied to LPF61, and the information of the horizontal deflection is fetched and memorized in RAM63. At the reproducing time, switch 70 is operated through control circuit 80 to read out the horizontal information from memory 63. Then the signal of such polarity as to give correction to the distortion is supplied to right-left pincushion corrector circuit 67. In such constitution, the distortion can be corrected completely, and furthermore the correction is also possible for the right-left distortion caused by the local distortion of the magnetic field distribution of the horizontal deflecting coil. Thus a perfectly square image can be reproduced, and the PLL circuit can be locked completely even with the dark screen to ensure the steady color regeneration.
