Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent staining of heating roller surface and copying images and prevent coiling of a toner backing to the heating roller by so providing the specific cleaning roller as to make pressure contact to the surface of the heating roller to the roller type heat fixing device. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning roller 4 is provided to the roller type heat fixing device for fusion fixing toner images, on the outlet side of a toner backing 3 in such a manner as to make contact to the surface of a heating roller 1 which is built in with a heating element 11 and is covered with material 12 such as Teflon or the like. The roller 4 comprises enclosing the circumference of a metal backing 41 with porous elastic materisl such as silicone foam and further enclosing the circumference thereof with a heat-resistant felt material 43. The surface speed of the cleaning roller 4 is made higher than the surface speed of the heating roller 1 to let the rotating direction of the roller 4 become opposite at the contact point of the roller 1, whereby coiling of the backing 3 to the surface of the roller 1 is prevented and flawing of the surface of the roller 1 is obviated.
