Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce MnO2 with remarkably increased catalytic oxidation power by dissolving a specified water sol. polymer flocculant in an aq. divalent Mn salt soln. and adding an oxidizing agent to the resulting soln. to react them.
CONSTITUTION: A water sol. polymer flocculant made of polyacrylamide type partial hydrolyzate is dissolved in an aq. divalent Mn salt soln. in an amt. of about 0.01W0.5wt% to the amt. of the Mn salt. An oxidizing agent such as potassium permanganate or sodium hypochlorite is is then added to the resulting soln. and reacted to deposit MnO2.
