Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a luminescent urethane foam useful as a safety sign label in the dark place, a toy, etc., by using a polyol containing a specific amount of fluorescent material as a raw material.
CONSTITUTION: In the manufacturing of polyurethane foam by mixing and foaming a polyol, an organic isocyanate, and a catalyst, 5-50 parts by weight of a fluorescent material such as ZnS, CaS, etc. per 100 parts of the polyol is added to the mixture. A disc punched out from the urethane foam thus obtained, is useful as a UFO-shaped toy for little children, and as a safety sign in darkness.
