Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease in fluidity of desulfurized slag by adding the specific crushed natural stones into the blast furnace molten iron after the desulfurization treatment. CONSTITUTION:When crushed natural stones of 75-80% in SiO2 content and containing Na and Ca, e.g., five resistance stone, (lotnite), pumicestone, feldspar (aplite), etc. are added to the blast furnace molten iron after desulfurization treatment at the time of carrying the same to a steel making furnace with a mixing car, then the melting point of the slag lowers and therefore its solidification may be prevented, and the possibility for the desulfurized slag for remaining in the mixing car and causing resulfurizing phenomenon in the next molten iron is eliminated.
