Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent misprint where type-picking is required twice, such as in close printing and European character printing, by a system wherein type-picking at blind printing time are memorized and compared with those at real printing time so that it can be decided whether the types are picked up.

CONSTITUTION: For blind printing operation, with a printing key 24 turned to a blind printing switch 30, a signal is fed to an AND gate 31 together with a rack holder signal d. When transmitted to the gate 31, signals e from detectors 18 and 19 are stored in a memory unit 32. With the blind printing operation finished, real printing is started. With the key 24 turned to a switch 25, a signal a is fed to an AND gate 33, and the contents of the memory unit 32 are fed one by one to a comparator 34 each time when the signal d is fed in. Picked types are compared with those at the first time; if they are agreed, a Y-signal is fed to a controller 14, generating an operation instruction for a shutter 14 and instructing drive sources 12 and 13 to operate; if they disaccord, an N-signal is generated to operate an alarm 35 and stop the printing operation.
