Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve durability to the atmospheric pressure with simple constitution and assembling accuracy by fitting horizontal and vertical deflecting electrode substrates to an electron beam controlling electrode system at the intersection.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of first deflecting electrode substrates 5 and a plurality of second deflecting electrode substrates 14 are constituted so as to intersect at right angles each other between which a spacer 10, an electron beam controlling electrode 11, a spacer 12, and an electron beam focusing electrode 13 are provided. A strip electron beam which is emitted from the linear hot-cathode 3 is deflected with the first deflecting electrodes 6a, 6b, guided to a passing hole 8 on the electron beam introducing electrode 7 by for example vartical scanning, deflected with the second deflecting electrodes 15a, 15b, and accelerated by for example horizontal scanning, and collided against the phosphor layer 18, thus a picture is displayed. The device is solid and fablicated accurately because of its simple construction and combination by fitting of each electrode constitution.
