Abstract

PURPOSE: To charge the toner held in a developing device stably in one polarity and obtain a sharp toner image, by using a material differing in the conductivity of positive charge and in the conductivity of negative charge as the material to compose a developer.
CONSTITUTION: As a material having larger conductivity of positive charge than conductivity of netative charge, poly-N-vinyl carbazole or the like of electron donative property is used; as a material having larger conductivity of negative charge than conductivity of positive charge, phthalic anhydride or the like of electron receptive property is used. For example, in the development of negative electrostatic image, when a photoreceptor 1 of negative electrostatic image is developed with a toner 2 containing phthalic anhydride or the like together with magnetic powder and bond coloring agnet, by using a developing device 3 to which a positive bias voltage is applied from a power source 4, the positive charge of the toner is stably charged. Thus, preventing fringe phenomenon, a sharp toner image may be obtained.
