Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce inlay clad plates excelling in corrosion resistance and conductivity, by applying parting agent to the inner sides of base metals in which clad materials are buried, inserting a dummy plate between the base metals, welding the circumference thereof, and hot-rolling. CONSTITUTION:Grooves are machined in one side of base metal plates 1, and clad materials 2 to be press-welded having the same shape as the grooves are buried in the grooves. Placing a dummy plate 4 of the same materials of the base metal being coated with parting agent 5 on both sides in the middle, the clad materials 2 are set face to face. The circumference of the base metal plates 1 is welded together with the dummy plate to obtain slab for hot rolling. This slab is then heated in the atmosphere, and hot-rolled. After rolling, the circumference of the welded base metal plates 1 is cut into two divisions, so that inlay clad plates may be obtained. Therefore, since the circumference is restrained by welding and enclosed, the junction plane is seldom oxidized, and the bonding of side face, as well as the bottom face, of the clad materials may be achieved perfectly.
