Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the continuous metal thin strip of a uniform shape easily and stably by letting molten metal overflow as a continuous laminar flow from the inside of a vessel having molten metal effluent port, letting this move onto a cooling body having a smooth surface and cooling and solidifying the same.
CONSTITUTION: Molten metal 3 is continuously flowed out from the molten metal effluent port at the end of a vessel 2 and is contacted to the surface of a metal-made roll 1. The contacted molten metal 3 is rapidly cooled with the roll 1 and while solidifying, it is carried along with the revolution of the roll 1 and therefore an amorphous metal thin strip 4 may be obtained continuously.
