Abstract

PURPOSE: To a polyolefin is added a modified polymer that is made by reacting polycarboxylic acid or monoepoxy compound, then polycarboxylic acid with hydrocarbon polymer containing active hydrogens to give title composition showing good adhesion and printability to substrates other than polyolefin.
CONSTITUTION: To 100 parts by wt of polyolefin are added 0.05W100, preferably 0.1W10 parts of a polymer resulting from reaction of a hydrocarbon polymer having hydroxyl groups and bearing 1 or more, preferably 1.2W3.0 of active hydrogens in the functional groups with an unsaturated polycarboxylic acid or its derivative and a monoepoxy compound or its derivative and further reaction of the product with 0.1W10, preferably 0.2W8 moles, per mole of the active hydrogen of aromatic polycarboxylic acid or its derivative and they are melt blended at 115W250°C. When the aromatic polycarboxylic acid or its derivative is made to react, the polyolefin may be blended together resulting in the same effect.
