Abstract

PURPOSE: To test easily short circuit troubles on account of layer short-circuiting or case earthing in a trasformer by applying voltage to a tested transformer momentarily, integrating wave forms which appear on its terminals owing to the voltage application and displaying the integrated value.
CONSTITUTION: A condenser 3 for applying voltage is connected to the connecting terminals 2a and 2b of a tested transformer via a switch circuit 4, and to the terminals 2a and 2b, is also connected an integrating circuit 5 which integrates wave forms which appear on the terminals 2a and 2b. Values integrated by said integrating circuit 5 are displayed on a display 6. By connecting the terminals 2a and 2b of so constructed transformer short circuit detector 1 with the lower voltage terminals of a transformer 10, closing the switch circuit 4 to apply voltage momentarily to the transformer 10, integrating wave forms which consequently appear on the terminals 2a and 2b by the integrating circuit 5 and displaying the integrated value on the display 6, the inside conditions of the transformer 10 is judged from the display.
