Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an exhaust system for motor cycle, in which exhaust pipes for each cylinder are connected with each other and provided respectively with inner pipes and said inner pipes are provided with a portion for shielding the inside of the inner pipes from void spaces formed between these inner pipes and the exhaust pipe, whereby it is enabled to prevent discoloration on the surface of exhaust pipes.
CONSTITUTION: Intermediate portions of exhaust pipes 3 located on the side of respective mufflers 4 are connected together by means of connecting pipe 5. Inner pipes 6, 7 are inserted in respective exhaust pipes 3 in the manner that hollow spaces 8 are formed between these inner pipes 6, 7 and exhaust pipe 3. Therefore, heat of exhaust gas is insulated by these hollow spaces 8 so that it is prevent that surfaces of exhaust pipes 3 are discolored. Further, at the portion where exhaust pipe 3 and connecting pipe 5 are coupled, end portions of inner pipes 6, 7 are held in tight contact with the inner surface of exhaust pipe 3 so as to form a shielding portion 15. With such an arrangement, hollow spaces 8 formed between inner pipes 6, 7 and exhaust pipe 3 can be shielded from the inside of inner pipes 6, 7, so that it is prevented that exhaust gas flows into the hollow spaces 8 and thus discoloration on the surface of exhaust pipes 3 can be prevented.
