Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce size as a whole retaining the characteristics of the water sensible heat type heat storage tank while preventing the lowering of the heat storage efficiency by compensating for the difference in the heat storage capacity required by the said tank between the cooling and heating operations. CONSTITUTION:Sodium acetate octahydrate (NaCH3COO.8H2O) is placed in a box-shaped metal container 18 as a latent heat type heat storage material. This heat storage material has a melting point of about 58 deg.C with a heat of fusion being about 60cal/g, while the heat of fusion per capacity including the container is about 7.4X 10<4>Kcal/m<3>. In total, about 0.22m<3> of the material including the container is used in the entire heat storage tank. Therefore, this heat storage tank 11 is capable of accumulating 12,000Kcal as water latent heat in the summer season by operation at 5-10 deg.C with an internal capacty of 2.62m<3>, and in the winter season, 24,000Kcal as water sensible heat at 50-60 deg.C. To this added is 16,000Kcal as heat of fusion of the sodium acetate octaacetat. Thus, in total, about 40,000Kcal can be accumulated.
