Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the efficiency of separation by lessening reciprocating flow in the particle discharge portion as much as possible by providing a part with small holes in the particle blow-off portion.
CONSTITUTION: A gas with particles flows into the inlet 1 and its flow is changed into a swirl flow by the swirl blade 9. The particles are directed downwards along the inner wall of the swirl chamber 2 by the resulting centrifugal force, introduced to the particle blow-off portion 5, and then discharged from the opening 6a. Thus, the rescattering of particles from the particle collection chamber 13 can be prevented by the passage of gas flow once introduced into the particle collection chamber 13 through the small holes 6b bored in the particle blow-off portion, permitting the enhancement of separation efficiency and the obtainment of clean gas from the inner tube 3.
