Abstract

PURPOSE:To minimize the decrease in the area of a light reception surface and reduce electric power loss, by radially providing evaporated grid electrodes on the light reception surface and providing a plurality of evaporated collector electrodes around the grid electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Thin linear grid electrodes 3 are provided on a circular light reception surface 1 so that the electrodes extend radially from the center of the surface. The same number of collector electrodes 4 as the grid electrodes 3 are arranged around them. The collector electrodes 4 are connected to the grid electrodes 3 respectively so that the grid electrodes are not connected to one another on the central part of the light reception surface 1. Each electrode is manufactured by evaporation with a metal mask. The grid electrodes 3 may be provided with arc- shaped branch electrodes 5 which extend concentrically with the circular light reception surface. This results in holding down the decrease in the area of the light reception surface and reducing the voltage drop in the grid electrodes 3.
