Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable adjustment of the sparkless commutation band position of a DC machine without using a control plate and improve the transient commutating characteristic thereof by winding the control winding by insulating an interpole iron core from an interpole winding to thereby convert only the turn ratio of the interpole winding to the control winding.
CONSTITUTION: A control winding 2b is wound by insulating an interpole iron core from an interpole winding 2a. A load current I supplied form a power supply 16 is detected by a detector 10, and converted by a proportional current setting potentiometer 11 into a signal of the value proportional to the load current I. This signal is added to a signal from a constant-current setting potentiometer 12 by an adder 13, and the sum is introudced through an amplifier 14 to a current regulator 15. The current regulator 15 converts a current from a power supply 17 into a control winding current Ic proportional to the signal from the amplifier 14 to thereby flow it through the control winding 2b. Thus, in regulating sparkless commutation position, it can determine the control winding current directly only by converting the turn ratio of the interpole winding to the control winding without using a control plate so as to thereby readily control the adjustment and improve the transient commutating characteristic of the DC machine.
