Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the detection of phase difference between a basic wave component and each higher harmonic component and effectively detect the distorted wave characteristic of an AC signal, by selectively extracting the higher harmonic component, frequency-dividing the extracted component and indicating the phase difference between the basic wave component and the higher harmonic component.
CONSTITUTION: The basic wave component (b) of an AC signal (a) is extracted by a filter 1-1 and applied to the first inputs of phase difference detectors 5i. The higher harmonic components (c) of the AC signal are extracted by filters 1-2W1-n, amplified and changed into rectangular waves (d) at 3i. The rectangular waves are frequency-divided to one third by frequency division circuits 4-i and then applied to filters 7-i. Reference wave components (f) extracted by the filters 7-i are applied to the second inputs of the phase difference detectors 5-i. The phase difference θ between the basic wave component and the higher harmonic wave component is picked out from each detector.
