Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a single acting cylinder, compact in size and low in cost, by hermetically filling the cylinder with working fluid and making the fluid expand and contract for reciprocating an actuating rod.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure chamber 4 of a cylinder 1 is hermetically filled with working fluid F which is heated and cooled by heating and cooling devices 5, 6 respectively to make the fluid expand and contract for reciprocating an actuating rod 3. This movement can eliminate a compressor or hydraulic pump as a pressure source, which makes the device small in size and low in cost.
