Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance safety and reliability of the rotor of steam turbine, by automatically calculating distribution of temperature and thermal stress in the rotor and controlling the heating source under optimal heating condition in the rotor, thereby minimizing thermal stress produced at the rotor.
CONSTITUTION: Temperature inside and outside the rotor is detected by temperature detecting means 10 disposed in the casing and temperature-sensitive elements 5, 11 disposed inside the rotor and information of the temperature thus detected is furnished to digital computor 12. In the digital computor 12, distribution of temperature and thermal stress in the rotor is calculated and at the same time distribution of temperature and thermal stress after passing of a minute time is also estimated, from which optimal heating condition in the rotor is detected. In accordance with the result of the above measurement, a heating temperature controlling instruction is given from digital computor 12 to heating source 13 which supplies heating current to heating means 4 for heating the inside of rotor. In accordance with the above control instruction, heating source 13 supplies optimal heating current to the heating means 4.
