Abstract
PURPOSE:To use an optical fiber as a transmission line to separate and bypass abnormal stations at a power failure and trouble time of respective stations on the data highway where optical communication is performed in a loop. CONSTITUTION:Normally, input data from optical fiber wave guiding line 21 is taken into decoder part 26 through photoelectric conversion part 22 and switching part 23 of station 30, and transmission data is transmitted to optical fiber wave guiding line 25 through switching part 23 and photoelectric conversion part 24 from encoder 27. In case of power failure in the station, detection part 28 detects this state to switch the path of switching part 23 to the bypass side, and input data from optical fiber wave guiding line 21 is bypassed to optical fiber 25 through photoelectric conversion part 22, switching part 23 and photoelectric conversion part 24. In case of troubles in the station, a detection part which is not shown in the figure operates similarly to the power failure time on a basis of the bypass request signal from the station.
