Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a dispersion strengthening type alloy with superior high temp. oxidation and corrosion resistances by melting a uniform mixt. of powder of a metal such as Ni or Co or an alloy and fire resistant oxide Y2O3 to overcome a difficulty of a conventional method.
CONSTITUTION: This method is a cimbination of conventional methods, a mechanically mixing method and a melting method. A mixt. of Ni, Co, Ni-Cr, Co-Cr, Ni-Co or Ni-Co-Cr powder and Y2O3 powder is dispersed finely and uniformly while burying the fire resistant oxide Y2O3 particles in the metal particles, using a mixing vessel for vigorous high energy pulverization, and this dispersion is melted in a vaccum or a reducing atmosphere to obtain a perfectly solid, dispersion strengthening type alloy having no internal pore and capable of preventing oxidation of Cr, etc. By charging mixed powder 2 into crucible 1 followed by dropping into ingot case 4 through melting nozzle 3 and solidification, a defect of ill fluidity can be overcome.
